Abstract Detecting license plate from camera videos is essential
for applications ranging from security and surveillance to parking control to
toll collection, and vehicle identification. In this project, we try to
detect a license plate in a video sequence and predict the characters on the
plate using a trained model. Our approach is carried out in four stages:
background subtraction, license plate detection, segmentation of characters,
and predicting characters using a trained model. Results show that our method
is simple and effective to work on videos. |
