"Virtual Reality and Computer Vision"

(Vision 13)

Abstract

I worked for a company called Vision13 as a software developer over the summer. Within the company I worked on a few different projects. I had projects like creating a 3D Environment for VR to sell computer processing time on our super computer servers for small companies. I had these projects because our company is developing a product to track the stock market and utilize that data.

This would later be used inside of an application for consumer use. I finished the environment and was transferred to another company called Vesta Space to help with their VR Environment development where we were able to salvage a lot of the resources from the previous environment. Creating these environments was engaging and a great learning experience. I was split between being a developer for my major in computer science and my minor in business administration so I got to see many sides of the company. This was a great experience and made me have a better look at how this field grows and expands overtime with these projects. I realize now that even inside the industry you will be learning new things hopefully for your entire career. Now having an experience inside the industry I have a better understanding of what having a career in this field entails.
