" Baseline: A Mobile Application for Tennis Players"

Abstract

My Capstone project's goal is to design and implement a lightweight social media networking iOS application titled Baseline, a tennis-specific networking platform for users to locate game partners and open courts. The finished version of Baseline will be able to connect users, provide a socializing platform, schedule matches, invite users to participate in matches, record match scores and history, track user performance, keep a courts database, and locate local courts. My goal for this project was to challenge my programming and problem-solving skills, and to bring together as much as possible what I learned during my time at UW Bothell into a single project - from design to implementation. During this summer my partner and I created a functioning back-end for the application, finalized the UI design, are currently implementing app functionalities. I learned much about working long-term with a programming partner and debugging difficult problems through trial and error. This was also my first time working on a single comprehensive project that encompasses front-end and back-end programming; I gained a better understanding of processes that link the two parts together and have them work synchronously.
